Dear Beauty Student, we are so happy you are here. We’ve been part of this beautiful space for over twelve years, and in all this time, beauty students haven’t had the proper tools to empower themselves and land the best career opportunity – until now. Welcome to the movement of abundance, empowerment, and major success.
Here’s how Canvas Me can help you land the career of your dreams:
1. SEAMLESSLY BUILD YOUR DIGITAL RESUME
Your canvas will give you the opportunity to digitally showcase yourself for the world of beauty to see. So many of our beauty industry friends struggle with standing up a website – we get it, it’s not easy to make this happen, even with all of today’s tools. When you create a digital profile on Canvas ME you won’t need to have a website – it will showcase your KPI’s, Your “story”, work history, your awards, and even sync your most recent photos from your Instagram page – so your canvas profile will ALWAYS be up to date. 😉
Not only that, but Canvas ME was built specifically for the beauty space, so as beauty companies/businesses look for talent, you want to be part of the mix – even if your not looking for an opportunity. You never know when opportunity will come knocking or when the next celebrity will be looking for some help backstage.

2. THE MENTORSHIP
Search Canvas ME for Mentorship opportunities! We are in the process of getting new mentorship opportunities – and guess what? – you don’t need a cosmetology license to apply! In fact most mentors are choosing mentees that are still in school. We’ve had amazing mentors like Jay Wesley Olson, J Ladner, Kristi Day, Sydney Lopez, Gerard Scarpaci, and more! Check out our mentor mash up video on youtube for some more of Canvas ME Mentors! We are getting ready to announce new mentorship opportunities that include Michelle O’Connor, Pepper Pastor, Jessica Todd and more.
3. NETWORK LIKE A BOSS
A close friend always told me, your Network is your Net Worth and as I’ve grown in my own career, I can’t stress this enough.
Leverage the platform to search for businesses and professionals in your area, check out their mission and vision, and if you love what you see connect with them! Introduce yourself and tell them that you will be graduating soon, and you would love to work for them one day. Ask them to keep you in mind for future openings. If its someone super high profile – offer to work for free. The learning opportunity alone will be worth it. If they respond, great, but if not don’t get discouraged. Continue to follow up, be persistent and do not feel bad for doing so. As your network continues to grow and you put yourself “out there,” the opportunities will come.
You can even share a link to your digital canvas on your social media outlets for more exposure.
4. ALWAYS CREATE CONTENT
In today’s social media era, you don’t have to just sit around and wait for an opportunity. Yes, Canvas ME will make it super easy to connect with businesses looking to hire, BUT you should be ready in case these opportunities aren’t exactly what you are looking for. Instead of waiting for the right job posting on Canvas ME you can actively build up your resume and social following by collaborating with local artists and creating videos of your work. Not only will this beef up your digital canvas but it will make you look like a superstar and big brands/businesses will notice. Making you more marketable and a super attractor for job offers.
5. SEARCH FOR POTENTIAL JOBS
Lastly, you need to be leveraging CR to look for jobs in your area. Connecting with job posters, BEFORE you graduate, is a smart way to set yourself up for potential job opportunities. We see so many people staying in jobs they don’t like because they don’t have options. Don’t let this happen to you. The more professional relationships you can create, the more opportunities you’ll see, and the quicker you will find your people.
Which of the above tips resonated with you the most? Are you looking to better showcase your true value? Are you looking to network or assist beauty professionals? Do you want to search for beauty jobs in your area? You can comment below. We’d love to hear from you.
